Reiki is a form of energy healing that works in tandem with other modalities of healing, such as chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture.
Reiki works on a mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual level. The Canadian Reiki Association says - "The knowledge that there is an invisible energy that flows through all living things has been part of the wisdom of many cultures for thousands of years. When our life force energy is low it impacts our wellbeing and personal health. The practice of Reiki increases one's life force thus promoting a healthier lifestyle.
Doctors are now considering the role Reiki plays in the functions of the immune system and the healing process and it is being used in hospitals and hospices across the country. Additionally, insurance companies are now starting to cover the cost of a Reiki session."
It is important to find a practitioner and/or teacher that is qualified, registered and insured for your own safety, comfort and trust.
Angela - CRA-RT - is registered with the Canadian Reiki Association (CRA) as a teacher, and is a member with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). She is fully insured and is currently offering in-person Reiki sessions at Gordon Street Chiropractic Centre in Guelph Ontario, in half hour and one hour sessions.

What is Mindfulness Meditation?
Mindfulness Meditation is a combination of the two, Mindfulness, and meditation, which develops a mental state of being focused in the present moment. Achieving this mind state allows one to acknowledge and accept one’s thoughts, feelings and sensations without judgement. It bridges the connections between one’s mind and body which makes it a great tool for increasing one’s overall health and wellness. It also bridges the gap between left and right sides of the brain, harmonizing thought patterns and creating a calmness that carries throughout the day when practiced regularly.
It can be practiced traditionally, sitting on a cushion with eyes closed, or it can be practiced doing day-to-day tasks such as washing dishes, cooking, or going for a walk.
Learning from a qualified practitioner will ensure you're consistent development of this skill, and guide you on your path to your personal goals.
We can easily use frequencies to help calm the mind and ease anxiety. When we combine frequencies we can create some pretty beautiful music. Our intention also carries vibration, and when we can create music with intention, we create the most healing music, or the most destructive music depending on the frequencies chosen and their combinations with intentions added to the creation of music.
When we hear a song we loved long ago it almost immediately transports us back in time and we feel the emotions we felt and think the thoughts we had years ago, We can use sound and music to help transport us to calmer mindsets. When we use the correct frequencies we can allivate pain and promote healing in the body. There are hospitals using music and sound frequencies in the operating rooms to help their patients through surgeries and to promote faster healing times.
Sound can also iritate such as traffic sounds and construction site sounds grating on our nerves. We really have to be careful in choosing frequencies that are healing for us. Each of us are unique, and so the frequencies we choose will be unique to us as well. If you have tried sound healing and have not found much success, it could simply be that you have been trying to self medicate through sound without knowing which frequencies to use.
Finding vibrations that are soothing and relaxing will help reduce anxiety, stress and depression in your life, and all you have to do is listen.
